WSRT is proud to announce the recipients of our inaugural Emerging Coach Scholarships – three outstanding women who are making a positive impact within their sporting communities and are committed to continuing their coaching journey. The response to this year’s scholarships was overwhelming, with 36 applications received from coaches across Tasmania, representing 20 different sports.
The strength and diversity of applications highlighted the incredible work women are already doing to develop athletes, build inclusive sporting environments and strengthen community sport. Selecting just three recipients was no easy task, with the assessment panel faced with an exceptionally high calibre of applicants.
Congratulations to our 2026 scholarship recipients:
Talia Bartlett – Devonport/Acton Cricket Club
Lutruwita the Label Aboriginal Emerging Coach Scholarship
Prudence Tippett – Mersey Rowing Club
WSRT Emerging Coach Scholarship
Josephine Beutel – Deloraine Table Tennis League
Clubs Tasmania Club Emerging Coach Scholarship
Each recipient will use their scholarship to further their coaching development through opportunities such as coach education, accreditation, mentoring, professional development and attendance at conferences or workshops.
By investing in emerging coaches, we are investing in stronger sporting experiences for athletes and creating more opportunities for women to lead within their clubs and communities.
We would like to sincerely thank Lutruwita the Label and Clubs Tasmania for partnering with us to deliver two of this year’s scholarships. Their support, alongside WSRT’s commitment to coach development, is helping remove barriers and create meaningful pathways for women in coaching across Tasmania.
To everyone who applied, thank you for sharing your stories, aspirations and commitment to your sport. Your passion for coaching and developing others gives us enormous confidence in the future of women’s leadership in Tasmanian sport.
Congratulations once again to Talia, Prudence and Josephine. We look forward to following your coaching journeys and seeing the positive impact you continue to make within your clubs, your athletes and your communities.
