Small Grants
Help fund a GAP in your community
Do you want to run a Get Active Program in your community? Our Small Grants Program can help cover the costs, making it free or low-cost for participants to join.
This funding is specifically for programs that engage people living in financially disadvantaged areas of Tasmania. You can find the Funding Guidelines here.

Guest speakers
Promotional materials
Transport costs
Catering for participants
Other program delivery costs
Who can apply?
You can apply if you’re:
A trained GAP Facilitator (or currently completing training)
Working with a community organisations, club, local council, or group - incorporated or under the auspices of an incorporated body
Planning to run a 10-week GAP in Tasmania
Committed to keeping costs low or free for participants
Our funding pool is limited.
Applications showing co-funding, in-kind support or partnerships with other organisations will be favourably considered.
Reporting and other requirements
Successful applicants must provide a grants report, financial aquittal statement and declaration within 30 days of completing the program.
The financial acquittal must verify how funding was spent and be signed by a member of the auspicing body (if applicable). All unspent funds must be returned.
Templates for reports and documents are available on the WSRT website through the GAP Facilitator portal.
All promotional material must acknowledge Womensport and Recreation Tasmania Inc. and include the WSRT and/or GAP logo.
All required forms must be completed and returned to the GAP Officer within the specified timeframes.
Assessment criteria
Proposals will be assessed againsted the following criteria:
How the need for the target group was identified
Whether the proposed program meets the objectives of GAP
If the area is in the lower half of SEIFA ranking for relative socio-economic disadvantage
If the program is new to the area, for the organisation, or for the facilitator
If the program includes partnerships with others
Whether the budget clearly states how the grant money will be spent
How the program may benefit participants and the local community
